The Study of Canned Green Peas
Canned green peas is one of the items who have comparatively large export quantity to the area of Middle East, Russia and South America.
Raw materials specified as fresh peas and dried peas
1) Raw materials -- dried peas
A) The price for dried green peas is very low.
B) Raw materials specified as fresh peas and dried peas, most of the canned green peas to Middle East and South America are made with dried ones, normally 400g per tin under size 7106 or 7113 can.
C) Dried green peas is dehydrated fresh peas. There are abundant stocks of dried green peas therefore the factory could purchase the raw material and start the production at any time. The production process is comparatively easy: Dried green beans can be directly soaked after packaging, sterilization can be completed.
2) Raw materials -- fresh green pea
A) Canned fresh green peas are mainly exported to the far east region of Russia-Vladivostok. Normally they are 400g with tin size 884.
B) Russia itself is a big country for green peas. However, as the far east region is too far away from the mainland, the price is comparatively lower if imported from China.
C) Comparing with the dried peas, the fresh ones are seasonal. Normally the factories purchase the raw material in April each year and start the production once a year.
D) If needed urgently, sometimes the factories will purchase the frozen fresh green peas as raw material, but this will be very very expensive.
Most importantly, fresh green peas are sure more delicious then dried green peas, and the smell is good after opening the can. It is hard to describe the taste and smell, and here I could only show you some photos with simple description.

3) PEAS SIZE
Divided by the size of the beans, here we could name them as No.1, whose diameter is 5-7mm, No.2, 7-8mm, No.3, 8-9mm, No.4, 9-10mm, No.5, 10mm up. Can code as 8011 8012 8013 8014 8015.
But nowadays China normally use No.1~NO.2 peas and the factories no longer identify the number of the peas, whose can code are all 801. However, I found some samples from some foreign factories whose pea size is No.1. Please check the photos.
